CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FC LONG BEACH STATE CUP FINALISTS!!! WHAT AN AMAZING ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!
Our Team History
Our team was formed in February 2004 as an LBYSO Recreation Spring Select team. Our team won first place as a Spring Select team and then promoted to a Signature Team in the 2004 Fall Season. We did very well in the Signature League, finishing the season as Signature League Champions and Signature League Cup Champions. In the 2005 Fall Season, we competed at the Club level through FC Long Beach, still part of our LBYSO family. We had a very successful season, finishing 3rd place with a record of 6-4-4 and all without recruiting any new players to our team. Last year we moved up to 11 a side in the U11 Silver bracket. We had much success this year in a very competitive Silver bracket with only 4 losses in 19 regular and league cup games.
We were the first team in our club history to advance in 2006 League Cup and 2007 State Cup, as well as making it to the Championship game in Spring Cup 06. Although we have much success on the field, our approach this year was the same, Individual Player Development and Having FUN.
More than 3 years later, we are still having fun together, developing as young athletes and competing at the Club level. My coaching philosophy is to focus on individual player development and having fun - the rest will take its natural course. It's important for us to be able to compete at our highest level, so we focus on working hard to improve our soccer skills.
Besides soccer, we enjoy spending time going to the movies, sleepovers, pizza parties, swimming parties, bowling, a mother/daughter game, father/daughter breakfast and several other fun things. We've become a close soccer family and we do lots of things together.
Although our focus is player development and having fun, this doesn't take away from us being able to compete with the best teams. To see a list of all games played, visit the "handout" section of this website.

FC Long Beach Grass Stains make it to the Cal South State Cup Championship Game
Congratulations to the LB Grass Stains for making it all the way to the Championship game.
We had our hands full in each of our games, great competition all the way through this tournament. An especially exciting game against Force in the Semi-Final game.
We had several different players stepping up to get game winning goals in this tournament, goals are precious and we are so excited with those who were able to find the back of the net so far in this tournament. I have to say that our defense was just outstanding. Giving up 1 goal (and that was on a PK, no goals conceded in the run of play) in 8 games is amazing in a tournament like this, and I'm so proud of these girls. Playing some games with only 1 substitute and coming out against the odds.
Keep up the great work ladies, we have 1 more game to win before we are the State Cup Champions.
Parents, thank you for your dedication and time over the last several weeks.
I love Lancaster.......where the Buffalo roam.

Why do the standings only show 29 points when the girls have earned 32 points???
Our game on November 10, 2007 against the Lions Soccer Academy was played in its entirety and without incident. The Grass Stains won that game 3-0 on the field. The following Tuesday we were notified that LSA had filed a protest, and 3 points were taken away from the girls. This protest and awarding of points to LSA was based on a technicality, not performance on the field.
We cannot speak on the details of this situation as it is currently under appeal, we want you to know the truth that our Grass Stains held LSA to zero goals in our last 3 games played against them. Our last three games have resulted in Grass Stains victories by the scores of 2-0, 1-0 and 3-0. The action to take our 3-0 victory on November 10th and change the standings to reflect a 0-1 loss to LSA is a result of what adults could do with a pen behind a desk, instead of letting the children play the game on the field.
Ladies, I’m so proud of you and of your 10-2-2 record, you earned every single point of the 32 points.
